Lindsay Fussell

Lindsay Fussell is delighted to begin teaching Tap and Theatre Dance at the MACC.
She has choreographed the past three Signal Mtn Playhouse productions: Matilda
(’22), Bye Bye Birdie (‘21) and Annie (‘19) and appeared in MACC’s Holiday Lane
monologue play last December.

Dance teacher/choreographer/director/actor Fussell has long associations with
various theatres in the Chattanooga area. For the Chattanooga Theatre Centre she
has served as resident dance teacher since 1996, and has choreographed numerous
musicals for CTC. (Hairspray, Hello Dolly, Legally Blonde, A Christmas Story,
Chicago, Cabaret, Anything Goes, High School Musical, to name just a few) Lindsay
has also served as Director /choreographer for 9 to 5, Spamalot and Miracle on 34th Street at CTC.

At Chattanooga State she served as Movement & Dance instructor in the
Professional Actor Training program and has choreographed many musicals there,
including Big Fish, Into the Woods, Xanadu, Seussical, Secret Garden,The Drowsy
Chaperone and Nutcracker Christmas Carol.

She taught theatre dance and tap at Center for Creative Arts 1999-2019 and
remains as resident choreographer for the Choo Choo Kids and for the high school
musicals. Those include Chicago, Hairspray, Big, Hello Dolly, Tarzan the Musical,
Aida, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Lindsay has served as guest choreographer at Theatre Memphis, Stagedoor Manor,
and Stephens College. Fussell’s choreography has been seen internationally in
Germany, Portugal, South Korea and Italy; Her 2010 flash mob video, with 144
dancers, “Footloose in Chattanooga” can be seen on YouTube.

WEDNESDAYS 5:00-5:55 BEGINNING THEATRE DANCE – Get ready for that next audition or just come have some fun by exploring basic dance steps, audition techniques and learn a short dance from a Broadway show. 


WEDNESDAYS 6:00-6:55 BEGINNING TAP- Always wanted to tap? Explore the basics of tap and apply them to combinations and a short dance 


THURSDAYS 5:00-5:55 INTERMEDIATE THEATRE DANCE – Broadway style warmup, audition techniques and a short dance from a Broadway show for the more experienced dancer 


THURSDAYS 6:00-6:55 INTERMEDIATE TAP – Tap dance for the more experienced tapper to include various time steps, maxie fords, draw backs, wings and pull backs along with a short dance
